PROGRAMS & CLASSES

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

At DW Jiu Jitsu, our training program offers a variety of classes, including traditional gi sessions as well as nogi classes, also known as ‘submission grappling’.

KIDS CLASS

Introducing a child to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a truly invaluable gift, offering not just a physical activity but a comprehensive journey of personal and character development.

NOGI – SUBMISSION GRAPPLING

The No-Gi submission grappling program is structured to build upon the core principles of jiu jitsu, translating these fundamentals into the No-Gi format.

PRIVATE LESSON

While the communal atmosphere of group classes serves as the bedrock for learning and advancing in jiu jitsu for many, others may find that personal training sessions better suit their learning style or goals.

FOUNDER

Deddy is a prominent figure in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) scene in Indonesia. He has the reputation as a pioneer who introduced BJJ to the country when he returned home in 1998 following his studies in the United States.

Deddy received his BJJ black belt under the guidance of Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti, the founder of Alliance Jiu Jitsu, a highly successful and internationally known BJJ team.

In 1996, he began his martial arts path, studying under the tutelage of famous instructors Rickson Gracie and Charles Gracie in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

In addition to his personal achievements, Deddy has also made significant contributions to the growth of BJJ in Indonesia. He is the founder and head instructor of Alliance Jiu Jitsu Indonesia and president of the Federasi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Indonesia. Further, he has been the head coach of the Indonesian National Jiu Jitsu Team, notably during the competitions for the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.

Deddy also trains combatives with elite units of the Indonesian military and police, including the Army Special Forces (Kopassus Grup 2 and SAT 81 Gultor) and the counter-terrorist unit Detasemen Khusus 88 (Densus 88) of the Indonesian National Police.

His passion for BJJ extends beyond competition, as he emphasizes its applicability as a self-defense system and as a lifestyle that encourages physical, mental, and spiritual growth.

Deddy has helped develop the sport in Indonesia, making it accessible to different segments, including children, women, and the military, and encouraging its development through academies, tournaments, and community outreach programs.
